My goals for week 5 were to: continue trying out circuit ideas, to finish character designs, continue on landscape designs, try building out more pop-ups and really consider page layouts, and to begin prepping for round 2 of User Testing.
I was able to get a few more characters done as well as work on a few more landscape designs. I'm hoping to add in maybe one or two other side characters yet. We were able to test out the additional landscape ideas in pop-ups and found that these ideas would work well with our story. We had difficultly at first getting one of the trees to stand until we folded it vertically; this is an important note for some of the taller pop-ups we will create.
In regard to circuit building, my partner and I were able to get a paper circuit to work with the inclusion of a button! The button type we used was tricky to implement because you had to connect it diagonally. After some research, we are considering using LilyPad buttons because they are smaller, flatter, and overall will be easier to connect in circuits.
We are still waiting to hear back from our sponsor about user testing with some elementary students. Due to this we will most likely be testing kids that our various ATLAS professors know for our round 2 of user testing.
